Absolutely, he's on a bad team with little run support and still has 12 wins. His ERA is fantastic, he only lacks strikeout ability.

He's got the best era of any rookie pitcher in the AL right now. If he can pull odd another 3 or 4 wins without taking another loss against him I think it could be a real battle between him and Pedroia for ROY. If Bannister gets those wins and keeps his ERA down, I think I've got to give him the advantage over Pedroia because of what Bannister's done on a team thats still laerning how to win. However, I am a biased Royals fan - so what do I know.

I will against the red sox here. The japanese players already have experience overseas so i don't count them and i don't think Dustin P. has as good of stats as Brian Bannister. Brian in 148 innings this year has 135 hits allowed and 9 HRs while having an ERA of 3.16 which is 4th in the AL. In 23 starts he has gone 6 innigns in 18 of them and has a 12-7 record on a team which isn't big on giving him run support and that's argument for him as rookie of the year.

He has a great shot of winning the AL ROY. The only competition is really Dustin pedroia. The fact that Bannister plays on an awful team makes it an even more impressive feat.

Brian Bannister will have consideration, but I think Dustin Pedroia will win it. He's been hitting an average of .320. Thats amazing for a rookie. Dice-K also will have a chance, but he has experience from Japan. Bannister has been great, and I respect what he's done. Pedroia, barely, though, will win it

Yes, very good shot very good ERA, 12 wins and being on a team like the Royals getting those wins with little offensive support. He has a pretty good shot at AL RoY.

He has a great ERA and a decent number of wins (considering that he plays for the Royals). His major downside is that he plays for the Royals and hasn't got a lot of national media attention.

if he picks up another 4 more wins while having like a sub 3 era overall, he''ll have a great shot of winning it
