"Spiral" is a good one mystery wise. If you were looking for the comedy aspect, try something like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. In one episode they even have a similar Case Closed mystery.

It's really hard to find a decent mystery anime these days, isn't it? That is what hours of searching has found me. Spiral is my favorite, and another one is Tantei Gakuen Q. Also an easy way to find good anime is go to
