Can anyone recommend a good community, city or town between South of San Francisco towards San Jose?
Our criteria is:
- good shuttle system (to senior center and hospital)
- low crime
- low traffic
- excellent senior center

The person will most likely want to live in a townhome (no assisted living required).
One city that seems to match is Foster City...any others?

Check into Santa Clara, they have outreach for transportation,
low crime, city and neighborhood traffic is not bad, and a new senior center opened last Spring complete with a lap pool, therapy pool and hot tub..all free to Santa Clara residents. They own their own electricity co. so rates are kept down. Winter weather is about 58-68 degrees, summer is usually low to mid 80s..no humidity, no summer rain..most of us don't own a winter coat..and only use air conditioning about 10 days out of the year..

Check out the North Bay on the other side of the Golden Gate. Sonoma, Santa Rosa and Napa are all great places to live. Up that way you are in the wine country with vineyards and little wineries all around. Santa Rosa is probably the most metropolitan city in the north bay.

I would say just about anywhere along Highway 101(see link); Palo alto, cupertino, Sunnyvale, Redwood City, San Mateo

However, you would find much better inland, Milpitas, Dublin, Livermore.
