The reason I broke up with him is due to his physical abuse. He was charged and spent a year in jail (2nd time). He's out now and cannot contact me or our children; in/directly for 6 mths as per my request. I decided to b-up w/him n went to family court 2 get/got sole custody of both children as he was threatening to take them. Now he refuses to pay child support as ordered by the Judge.I had no choice but to apply w/maintenance enforcement to get the pymts for me.This is all b/c I refuse to take him back and b/c I no longer want to be his punching bag. What do I do now? Sit and wait...patiently???

Depending on what state you're in they can take his drivers license away or he can go to jail for non-payment. Just make sure the agency knows where he is at all times, where he works, his SS #, etc. so they can garnish his wages.
Stay away from people like this, he sounds like a real loser and a 'donkey'. You shouldn't be nobody's punching bag. It's not good for you or your children.
So, I guess with this in mind all you can do is wait......

I don't think so. I was divorced a few yrs back and when I went after child support I had a really tough time at first because he was working and getting paid under the table. Well, Once i finally got him in the court room they made him confess to having a job because if he hadn't the judge was giving him 90 days to get a job! and to bring her the proof he had one. So he had no choice but to tell her he was already employed and to start paying for his child. I do know that when they have back child support to pay if he gets married and they file their taxes MARRIED JOINT then I will get her tax return as well. But thats Because they are filing together so it will all be in one check. And since he is over 7 grand behind on CS right now. Their tax check will come straight to me. But they cant garnish her wages or anything just because he is behind. But either way you mentioned yall were going to be married in a year. I truly hope he has a job by then (for your sake). But chances are when he goes to court. The judge is simply going to give him a deadline to get a job. And if he doesn't he will be facing jail time. Well good luck, I hope I was able to help

Does he have a job? If he wants to screw with you he can get a job off the books. Unfortunatly you can only do what the court system will allow. I have a friend who is owe 50 thousand dollars in child support, and she has been dealing with this for 5 years, she works 3 jobs and lives with her parents to support her children.

You take him to court as many times as needed and then you get some training or something so that you can get a job and take care of yourself and not depend on a man that you should know is never gonna do the right thing.

Nah, not with this guy. You get back into court, and get his checks garnisheed, You might even consider moving to another state, and getting back in school... You married a looser, hon, and an abuser... It's a personality defect... nothing he cannot change without lotsa help.... which he will not get.

Work on your own personal problems that lead you to be attracted to this man so that next time you choose a better man.

I recommend going to an AA or Al-anon meeting, finding a sponsor, and working the steps.

I will pray for you and your children.
