I don't! My aunt was a horseback rider when she was a teen. She never was a brat, and never will be. She grew up in a family of five kids and her parents (my grandparents) were money-savers. She and the rest of her siblings went to public school like most people do and her family wasn't very rich. I also used to horseback ride, and I never once met a rider who was a rich brat. Not all horsback riders are rich brats. Some are, but not a lot. Please don't make assumptions about all horseback riders when you don't know them all. I do agree that some are brats, but not everyone that horseback rides. :)

While it is true that most people who ride regularly are fairly well off, I don't know that I'd categorize them as rich brats. Brats are made by parents who spoil them in so many ways and not all ways have a dollar sign attached to the fact they are brats. Being lucky enough to have a horse or ride with any frequency does belong to those with money but not always. When I was a late teenager and into my late twenties I rode once a week faithfully. I loved it so that I always managed to get up the $20.00 - $30.00 it cost to ride for only one hour.

That's not true. Just because you are a horseback rider doesn't mean you are a rich brat. I my parents could afford a horse, I'd still be the same person. That is the most sorry stereotype I've heard.

hey now - i totally resent the people that are saying ****horseback riders, for example.
the fact that we have horses is not the determining factor on whether we're rich or not. I come from a middle class family, and we are supporting my horse just fine. It's not because we can reach into our pockets and pull out 400 every month - I work 23 hours a week around schoolwork, instruments, and other commitments to make my horseback riding work.
As long as someone has work ethic, it is not hard at all to own a horse. I can easily get my bill down to 100 a month, and it's because I have a commitment to what I love to do.
So please, those of you who say **** horseback riders - step back and check yourself. please, eat your words.

I never thought that. I'm sure there are some that are but that can go for anything really. My mom had 2 horses growing up but she wasn't a rich brat. I can kind of see why people would think that, I guess its more of a stereotype because not everyone can have or even ride a horse.

People should never be judged just for doing something they love. They're just doing what they love and talking about the things they love, just like everyone else does. I knew a teenager who worked after school and weekends to pay for lodging her horse (she also bought her horse with her own earned money). Every penny she made went for her horse. It was her passion. Her family was far from rich. I don't call that a rich brat. I call that "a girl who has a passion and will do everything in her power to realize her passion".

You are contradicting yourself sweetheart, what do you mean cowboys and cowgirls are exluded? Riding horseback is riding horseback. Period.
I don't think that people who ride horseback are rich brats, I ride horseback every chance I get and I am just your average blue collar worker, not rich, didn't grow up rich...I just really like horses.

They are probably rich and bratty because they don't know how to earn an honest dollar and have had things handed to them all of their lives. It takes alot of money to keep and feed and groom horses. These people have alot invested in their animals.
