Maybe in her neighborhoods way back when, but it certainly wasn't a regular pastime when I lived in Atlanta. It's still an illegal practice and his cruelty to the animal is unconscionable. I think she needs to stick to Hollywood squares. If this is the only way the view can get viewers is to bring on pigs like Rosie and now Whoopi, then they have bigger problems than we certainly can address here.

It wasn't a complete absolution of Vick by any stretch. She noted that some cultures cockfight, like in Puerto Rico to establish the prevailence of it. She also pointed out that it took a while for him to figure out that in other parts of the country this didn't fly.

I used to think Whoopi Goldberg was fairly intelligent, apparently I was wrong. It's sad that someone of her stature would defend a douchebag like Michael Vick.

Never heard that. It would be ridiculous if so. I am still trying to get over the news that La. finally caved and cockfighting is going to be illegal starting next year. They were the last hold-out.
