cam ward lost 20 pounds and looks better in training camp. turco wll be a solid contributor during the regular season with lots of wins, a low gaa average, and a few shutouts here and there. gomez will be on a scoring line, and redden has a great+/-. it's a positive adding gomez and a negative adding ward, unless you have great goaltending with your other goalie or 2 i wouldn't do it

I would love to the guy getting Turco and Redden for sure. Looking past Turcos playoff failures you see an elite regular season goalie who posts top numbers on a very good defensive oriented team. Gomez is good but centers with solid production fantasy wise are a dime a dozen while finding good D in fantasy isnt nearly as easy. I see this as pretty lopsided with the guy getting Turco/Redden being the big winner in this deal.

Centres are definitely a dime a dozen. If you can get rid of Gomez and Ward and pick up Redden/Turco its a great trade. Even if Redden gets injured, you're still on top. I think Gomez is a good player....but he is really overrated.

Assuming Ward and Turco cancel one another out, it comes down to Gomez vs Redden. How desperate is your need for a defensemen?

I personally would NOT let go of Gomez now that he'll be playing in a trap-free environment with Jagr on his wing. I'd have to see the makeup of your roster, but I just don't see putting Gomez on the block for anything short of a top 10 d-man as a wise preseason move.

Turco is a much better goalie in my opinion. Ward is more hype than anything else because of his great post season run two years ago.
