ati x1950pro question?

i just got a ati x1950 pro for bioshock....in the catilyst control center
it dosint display my pci e card speed.... 16x etc
my cards 16x i know that....the card i took out was 16x also
why isint it displaying 16x....any help would be gratefull

x16 (by 16 or 16 lanes) does not denote speed of the card but the number of PCIe lanes that the card uses.
