I am NOT a racists person so dont think I am with asking this question but it seems as if the only people sticking up for Vick are people of the same color. This guy got caught red handed plain and simple. He is wrong and how can anyone support this guy. Using such excuses as it is the same as hunting. Hunting is NOT illegal!!!!! Besides killing an aminal while hunting, is a humane way of doing it. Vick and his friends tortured and murdered these dogs and not in a humane way. Would you rather me shoot you in the head or drown/electrocute you and then shoot you in the head? We are not in Puerto Rico either Goldberg. Last time I checked, I lived in the USA. I do not recall anyone making up excuses for the accused in the Enron case.....

It is only a small minority of racist blacks that are sticking up for Vick. Unfortunately, they are very vocal about it, making it seem like more. They have questioned every famous black person on the planet just to find a very few who stick up for him to varying degrees. The best thing to do at this point is just to ignore their stupid arguments, and they will go away after a while.

I will give you an honest answer. I do not agree that a majority of blacks are supporting Vick, only that a majority of his supporters are black; there's a big difference.
I also figure that its for the same reason that I have never been pulled over just for being white.
Look, his actions disgust me as a dog owner and a human being. I think that a public mauling is a better punishment than a year or so in jail. My only point is that white America cannot ever understand how it feels to be black America and vice versa.

Good, I glad to see that you are not a racist. M. Vick may not be a racist either, but, what he did was wrong and for MOST of the black population to suggest killing dogs was no big deal, well thats akin to saying killing unborn babies is no big deal. Yeah, I spent 2 tours of duty in Nam, but, I never went out and shot someone just because they were in my way or helpless. M. Vick needs some help instead of people saying that what he did was JUST, kill dogs. Anyway you look at this question you are going to get answers that conflict with the color line. Perhaps the best way to view this problem is to simply say, black, white or yellow, M Vick will get his due when the courts decide just what that is.

Dude, seriously give a rest. He plead guilty and he is going to do time in prison (my estimate is between 2-3 years). Besides, I'm not saying dogfighting is the same as hunting, but I would like to ask, how is shooting a deer or bear that is just minding their own business humane? Be careful how you word things.

and alot of people wanted to see Vick succeed because of how exciting he was to watch

You may not be racist but you are thinking like one...to assume just because the majority of the ppl you have opposed views on Vick's situation are black doesn't mean the entire race would agree just because of skin color. What Vick did was retarded he deserves to be locked in a cage but so do people who pull the race card.

the only reason this vick dog fighting blew up so big is because he is famous. underground dog fighting is more popular then what people realize this goes on everwhere and you never hear about it. now that they caught vick there making a big deal of it. people should open there eyes vick aint the only person into dog fighting. i support vick and i aint black

It is so pathetically obvious that this IS a race issue...
If I were a well know celebrity (yes, Whoopie) and I was defending his behind, I would be so ashamed of myself.
She said "He was raised in a culture of this kind of thing".....did she mean the black culture or the southern culture?....either way, to me it was very offensive to both blacks and southerners!! And to anyone else who thinks systematically torturing innocent animals is an atrocity.
Oh yea, and the Asian eating dog argument, please, humane killing for nourishment and inhumane torture for gain, is two totally different things.
