So we "liberated" them from one Arab dictator and put them under another Arab dictator.

Yes, I do wonder why we think that was such a good thing.

Great, Scott B - I hope you feel the same way about all of the Arabs that are now liberating Iraq from American rule.

(for those still not paying attention we would not care how many Iraqi's died, or Saddam, if it wasn't for all the oil under their feet)

Kuwait liberation in 1991 or Iraq liberation in 2003, was not to change dictatorship or anything... it was done so the Americans would secure the oil supplies... there is no such thing as free lunch its all paid for.

Liberate doesn't mean that you install the form of government that you prefer - it means that a foreign invader, that had wrongly entered and controlled the country, was removed.

What form of government does Kuwait have? Would you consider the United Kingdom a 'dictatorship' because its "ruled" by a Queen? Tribal customs are a big influence in the near East, and there is a hierarchy among the tribes. This hierarchy decides whom is in charge. Don't forget that Kuwait citizens have the highest individual income in the world.

Yes, but only an extremely fascistic brutal monarchy which was nearly as bad as hussein...

Since we supported Hussein's actions for so long and feed the Armies of one of the worst dictatorships in the world today (Saudi Arabia), it has become obvious that America will support democracy... if it suits the interests of our Corporations and Government.

You mean the country that the first Bush Administration first told Saddam Hussein that it had no interest one way or another if he wanted to invade it when he first informed them of his plans? And which Bush, after Margaret Thatcher bullied him into fulfilling British defense agreements the UK was incapable of,decided that the invasion was the greatest crime since the invasion of Poland?

You mean the country that has one of the worst human rights records in the world, where Filipina housekeepers are often used as sex slaves, and where one of the world's largest child sex rings is headquartered?

Nice ally we got there....

We freed the Kuwaiti people from the oppressive invaders so as to restore the unelected monarchy. What's so hard to understand about that?

"Liberating" a country has nothing to do with influencing the government it sets up. We prevented a neighboring hostile from an unprovoked attack.
