No, both sides are live and let me tell you how to live and how to think. And take your hard earned money.

Here's a twist: BOTH 'libs' and 'pubs' seem to be able to only try and outdo the other with childish name-calling, juvenile jokes, bitter barbs, and idiotic insults. Not one of the answers posted so far offer any insight or intelligent discussion of which of life's philosophies might be best.
Webster's definitions might be helpful:
CONSERVATISM is defined as "a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change.
LIBERALISM is defined as "a political philosophy based on a belief in progress, the essential goodness of man, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberites."
Now, as I see it, no conservative ("pub") doesn't believe in the essential goodness of man - and no liberal ("lib") rejects the idea of social stability. So, it appears that there must be a little bit of BOTH in ALL of us! So why can't 'libs' and 'pubs' grow up and act like adults? Why can't 'libs' and 'pubs' come together to try and unify this country to solve some of its broader issues instead of labeling themselves with terms they don't even fully understand?
Grow up, people. This planet has a lot more things to concern itself with than rather you're a resident of a red state or a blue state. -RKO- 09/04/07

Libs are "live and do exactly as we tell you to or we'll assume you're guilty of some hate crime", while pubs would appreciate the notion of "live and let the government adhere to its duties as prescribed by the constitution"

No, libs are "I'll tell you how to live" and Republicans, "We'd like to leave you alone to live how you would like to." See John Edwards' cradle-to-grave mentality and Hillary's "We're going to rob you to save you from yourselves" mentality for details...

That could be close to the truth. But Reps/cons won't let you die if you want too. So I don't think they are "live and let die" they appear more "live my way orwe'll lock you up and if that doesn't do it we kill you".

More correct:
Libs= "we'll tell you how to live, and we'll spend your money too."
Republicans= "Live free or die hard with a vengeance."

Your alive aren't you, so apparently our live and let die program is failing.
