No it wasnt. People forget how good App St. is. These guys are back to back Division 1 AA champions. If these guys had a ranking in Division 1 they would definitley be in the top 50. I do think it's a huge upset but I dont think it's any bigger of an upset as it would be if lets say they lost to Eastern Michigan or Northwestern. Still a big upset, but not the biggest of all time.

NO. You are talking about the TWO-TIME Defending Division 1AA team, where they have to win the Championship in a PLAYOFF format, beating an overrated Division 1A team by 2 points. Stop acting like Michigan lost to some HS team or something, also let's stop acting like they are the greatest team and went undefeated until the last game and then lost. This is the first game and they played a great team, unlike most that played true Cupcakes. I can't tell you what the biggest of all time is, but seriously people are acting like Michigan was far better then it was.

No, Michigan should have won, but it wasn't "the biggest upset ever." Appalachian State is the quality of a medium good Big Ten team. Definitely a winnable game for Michigan but not a huge upset.

Temple and Va Tech '98. Would people please stop insulting App St. Give it up. Mich is (was ) over ranked, but App St has an excellent team. This was not an aweful upset to people who really watch football.

I don't know...How bout the last time Navy beat Notre Dame, in the 60s when Roger Staubach was Navy's QB...That was pretty huge...and I hate admitting it because I am an ND fan...
