Ive been asking myself this very question - I have tons of 'male mates' but most of them have tried it on with me at some point (fortunately I've set them straight and we have managed to remain friends, but there always remains an unspoken awkwardness that I don't think will ever go)
I recently split with my long term partner of 10 years and a mutual friend of ours (whom I have known for 20 years, since I was a kid) has been extremely supportive of late, which I considered to be really nice of him, a friend like that is just what you need when you are going through a painful split until................. he started making comments, silly little things, like "he must be mad, if my missus was as stunning as you I would do all I could to make her happy" and "lol - your voice sounds really sexy on the phone" etc etc and now its apparent to me that he wasn't being a 'good, supportive friend' - hes actually thinking 'yeah, great, they've split up, now I can get in her knickers'!!!!! Its really dis-heartening!!!!
I'm not a flirt either - I don't lead anyone on, I don't flaunt myself (you'll normally find me in a hard hat and steel toe caps - hardly sexy)
I would like to think that its obvious that you can have male friends, however, from my experience I'm sad to say that that's probably not true!!!!

sometimes best buds make great couples but there is always that fear if one say something about how they feel about the other then the friendship will end because the other doesn't feel the same way. You need to ask yourself Do I Love Him, not just as a friend... Does he love me more than just a friend. Do u think he was kidding or he was serious and thought u might think diff of him so he said he was just kidding... Anyway if you have feelings for him then u need to tell him, he may open up when he realize that u feel the same.. Good Luck

You can always be friends with the opposite sex. We are after all capable of controling our desires. BUT....
As a woman who has always had more male friends then female ( men are less bitchy and competative) I have also realized that for the most part all my male friends would sleep with me if I gave the go ahead! I know its sad. And for years I refused to believe it. But its true. So by all means be friends, just don't be naive!

NO! The answer is def NO! I'm a guy, and we only become your friend so we can be close to you, and daydream more about having sex with you. ;) We wait until 2-3 days after you break-up with your last boy, and go in for the kill.

it is so possible but l8ter on in the
friendship one or the other starts likeing
the other meanning the guy or the girl mite start
liking the other but heck ya it is possible for a guy
and a girl to be just friends

If there is no physical attraction, then yes they can be friends. If either one does have some sort of attraction, then more than friends will always be on that persons mind

Depends on how you act.
If you are a guy, yes. Just treat her like a sister, don't do something that you wouldn't do to you rmom, or sister. Or say anything.
If you are a girl, again yes. Same as above, don't do or say anything that you wouldn't say to you dad or brother, or do anything.
