Who read and enjoyed the Harry Potter books? I'm not at all ashamed to say I read and enjoyed each and every one of them. My Oldest Grandson and I gabble Harry Potter together all the time

Sure...no problem. I've read them all [except the latest. I'll wait until it comes out in paperback.] They're well written and very entertaining.

A few years ago I was waiting for surgery and was in a bed with nothing to do while I waited [it was a busy day, and my surgery was delayed by a couple of hours]. I got the Harry Potter novel I was reading at the time and pretty soon I started getting regular 'drop-in' visitors. The nurses were all popping in to see which one I was reading and we'd discuss whether they'd read it yet or not. It got busy there for awhile.

Sometimes I think I should start to read Harry Potter but what little I saw of the movies I didn't care for them. So I thought I would not like the books. Are you telling me otherwise!

Get this...I am a voracious reader. I am never without a book in progress, and read for some time each day.

And I also have bought, EACH AND EVERY ONE, of the Harry Potter books (in hard cover) for my oldest daughter (32 years old) for her Birthday or Christmas gifts.

And yet I have never cracked the cover myself. I have every INTENTION of doing this--but just never seem to pick up The Philosopher's Stone to start the series...

No, I never read any of the Harry Potter series, or saw the films. Have to agree with Gabeymac. There are real witches and warlocks out there. Read up some stuff on the "Wicca" site.

I think it's going to have a huge impact on leading a lot of young people into th Occult. I kn0w I'll get stoned too.

I've read the first six and am now reading the seventh. I'm sure it's already been spoiled for me by the trolls who wouldn't control themselves, but I plan to enjoy it until the end anyway.

I was amazed at how well the movies portrayed my mind's pictures of Hogwarts and the characters.

Next up? J.R.R. Tolkien. I have the trilogy of movies, but the special effects disc leads me to believe I should have read the books and been familiar with "The Hobbit" first.

I'm 68. I read all the Harry Potter books and thought they were quite good - not classics but good. I also thought the books were a little to a lot wordy.

I loved the books but I havent read the last one yet. I will soon though.

I havent watched the films yet either as I think they have a lot to live up to and I might not be able to handle the disapointment if they don't lol.

I must be unusual but I haven't read a single Harry Potter book or seen a film or played a video, just doesn't appeal to me nor does Tolkien.

I bought one for the kid next door for Christmas, read it first,
Thought it was a poor attempt at Tolkien, will not by an other but have to admit the kids next door absolutely adore HP and can't get enough. I quite like their sauce the ketchups great.

My daughters (29 & 31) have read them but I haven't. Maybe I should give them a try. I love that type book anyway.
