A solid Black Navy or white would be my top picks unless you had a patterned top that had lime in it.
If your a fashion forward kinda person I have seen people wearing lime and brown together this summer.

Well, this is tough because I had a similar style. But honestly I would try to tell her, say something like "I know you spent a lot on these pants and I truly appreciate them, but to be honest they aren't my style." Maybe she has the receipt and can make an exchange. And if you tell her she'll know that you respect her, and it'll keep her from making that mistake again. Besides, she only wants the best for you, and I don't think that she'd be hurt if you said it nicely. BUT if you decide not to say anything, you'll need to either wear a plain color (white is preferred) or you need a shirt with lime green in it. I actually had this problem when I was fifth grade. So....I hope that I helped in some way.

Something to tone it down. Stay away from other bright colors and/or bold patterns. Also, a top that has a good length so that it cuts the length of the pants.
Since it's still summer, I would go with white. Towards fall and winter, I would do black.

I have a pale-ish yellow and white bar stripe henley that I wear with my lime green sweat pants. It looks really good, and it reminds me of lemons and limes. I really like dressing like the colors of fruit.. I don't know why. It's only when I wear bright outfits, when I want to stand out. Like, I wear pink and green, pink and orange, green and yellow, etc. I think bright pink would be a bit too much for the lime green in one outfit, too bright. But, yeah, I think a nice, pale yellow would look pretty sweet. Good luck!

One of my friends has sweatpants like that. They are lime green too, and she pairs them up with a moderate purple.
Here are some colors you could match it up with.
-Navy Blue
-Black
-White
-Purple
-Hot Pink
Hope this helps!

Yes, that is a good combination. Grey goes with most colors. A light color worn with a dark one gives contrast that makes an ensemble exciting.
