For the formation of compound Li ^+2O ^-- by using ionic bonding: (the + and - signs are suppose to be superscripts and the 2 is suppose to be a subscript)

1. Draw the elcetron-transfer diagram using orbital notation
2. write the elcetron -dot formula for the compound.
3. write an equation showing the oxidation
4. write an equation showinf the reduction
5. identify the oxidizing agent and reducing agent

The reducing agent is Li, which is oxidised:

Li -----> Li+ + e-

The oxidising agent is O2, which is reduced:

O2 + 4e- ----> 2O2-.

We can't draw diagrams on this facility!
