I got one for calling a guy a jerk. According to the guidelines, I guess I did deserve it.
But I laughed because I could picture this guy who was saying hateful things in his question, "Waaaah! Some woman called me a jerk! I'm going to REPORT her!"

This violation process is entirely automated. The emails are generated by the software and the only time a human being is actually involved is when a person contests the violation. Even then, often the staff person simply ignores the content and approves the violation notice and/or suspension blindly.

Since this is a free service they do not have the staff available to properly monitor the activity here and therefore rely on the software (and the users) to do it for them.

Often users will complain of abuse when there is none (for varying reasons), but the software obviously doesn't know this and still registers complaints.

After so many complaints (valid or not) the software sends a violation notice and pulls the question or response. Sometimes the account supposedly in violation is suspended also.

Yahoo naturally does not consider this a high priority item since no revenue is being generated from free users. Their logic is infallible....Would you spend time and money where there was no return?

Yes, many. Some I've deserved, some I didn't. Fighting them is a waste of time; they hire human beings to send the same email over and over again, telling you to look at the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. I know that they have humans doing this and not computers because the emails sometimes have spelling mistakes.

I get at least one violation a week from this section and have never deserved anyone of them. I always write back since I am not in any violation of their Don't List.

About five or six. I deserved 1 . The rest were honest answers that someone did not want to hear

I have had two. One got reversed and the other one was answered with "we are not obligated to tell you what happened". DUH ! I find it funny because of some of the things I see here. I don't hesitate now to click the "abuse" button and complain about actual "violations". I get tired of the advertising I see for insurance companies in Registration and Insurance Forum.

Once. Someone asked what was my favorite rap tune and I replied that I have no preference. I said I hate rap and went further to say why. I guess the asker didn't like what I had to say.

I've been given a few, I've deserved only one or two (I admit it, those were obnoxious of me), I've only had one reversed.
