ok so iam on my period and at this point, it is kinda heavy. i need to go to an intense two hour swim workout today. i'll wear a heavy tampon, but i have heard that it stops while working out or swimming. is that true, or will i be leaking?

I think your period will "stop" while you're in the water. I don't know why, but periods usually always stop when youre in the water! But if you're using a tampon, you should be fine. I've swam with a tampon in and had no problem at all.

It does NOT stop. Water just disperses the blood so that you can't see it. Plus, when you get out of the pool you will end up with blood running down your leg.

Working out might make it heavier, not lighter.

i think some people think that their periods stop because when they've been in the water a while, and then they get out and take out their tampon, it's not as full. it could be because water can get up into your vagina and wash some of the blood out of the tampon. seems very likely to me.

They say it's supposed to stop in water. But that has never been the case with me. I still bleed.
