I don't understand them, how do I turn the chord of G, B, D into a diminished chord? In the key of G major?? with an added sixth?

Lower the third and fifth a half tone. In this case, the "third" is the B and the "fifth" is the D. The chord then becomes, G, Bflat, Dflat. Add the "sixth" which is E. (G, Bflat, Dflat, E is the entire chord.).
