Completely normal. School sucks the life out of you.

yeah i always feel that way on first days.. but i don't even start out cheery.
but to make you feel better, don't get too dragged down by it. it's just school, you go there to learn, and then at the end of the day you can hang out with your friends and you'll forget all about being lonely during the day.
for me, after the first few weeks, everything starts getting a little better...

That is just about as normal as it gets.
I was just like that when i started 7th grade at new school,
but this is what i did:
i looked for other girls that werent in a clique, and just said hi! and introduced myself, best chances are that they are in your same situation, and will be friendly too.
Another thing you should do is join a sport or a club, school is alot more fun and enjoyable that way.
Hang in there, and don't let school get the best of you!

School does tend to leave you blank at the end of the day. I have tons of classes with barely any of my friends. I just get through the day and think forward to what I will do after school or other thoughts. This is my last year of school, that helps also.

Ah, school sucked for me to. I had few friends, and it sucked because none of them were in my classes so I was mostly a loner. Don't worry about high school, it's mainly what you'll achieve later in life what counts. Besides all those "cool" people will be big time losers in the future.

I'll tell you what, I felt the same exact way. Last year I didn't have anyone in any of my classes, but luckily a lot of them are in this year. I'm still looking for a solution myself, but I've heard extra-curricular activities really help the year to go faster and better. I wish you tons of luck though, when you've unlocked the secret, come around and tell me!!

Make a few friends, keep up with your homework, keep your head down when aggressive types are around. Stay focused on the future. College is great.

Give it a bit longer first day is always strange. Don't go in with expectations just go with the flow don't try to force new friendships and they will come.

And cheer up!

I think you went in expecting to much and the day didnt deliver so it leave you feeling disapointed. Give it time its only your first day it will get better.
