Just claim that you were not doing any miles per hour. Your defence is you were travelling in Kms per hour. That should get you off on a technicality

It really does depend on what the speed limit was where you think you were caught. If you havent yet received a ticket, how do you know you were caught at 83 mph? Assuming you were driving on a GB plate, increasingly countries are collaborating with penalties across borders but as Belgium does not yet have a penalty points system they will not try and impose a points penalty. Against a 120 kph limit they are likely not to bother chasing but if you were in an 80 kph limit then they could classify this as a serious offence and start proceedings. Also of course it not only the speed they could be interested in - many campaigns for seatbelt wearing are using cameras too. It will be some years before European harmonisation on speeding penalties but til then national rules and policies will be followed. Spain is launching a helicopter force which will catch you from 1000 ft up and half a mile away, so they say.

Belgium has a motorway limit of 120 kph (72 mph), so you were well over. The question is whether or not they can be bothered to trace you. There is a mechanism to chase UK drivers for European offences. I think all they can collect is the fine, but it is a recoverable debt so bailiffs can be used.

Likely the matter will be ignored as it is too much trouble to follow up minor driving offences for foreign drivers.
Maybe Belgium does confer with Nederland and Luxembourg and maybe France, but probably not with the UK.
In any case, foreign courts cannot impose penalty records on UK driving licences.
Are you sure that you were exceeding national speed limit? Belgium does not use miles an hour!

Hi, the only thing you're gonna get is a fine. I don't know how much it's gonna cost you (it depends on how over the limitation you were. <20km/h = 200 Euro, >20km/h from 275 to 375 Euros...) Just so you know, above 100 km/h, the police tolerates a 6% error margin...
Sorry and good luck...

If the Belgian police are anything like the British you won`t hear anything else about it. Too expensive to follow it up.

They'll possibly sentence you to a large portion of Brussels Sprouts. Or just ignore you.
