My all time favorite book is Don Quixote - however recently I fell in love with Cormac Mc Carthy's The Road which won this year's Pulitzer Prize. It is breathtaking. Pax - C

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich (One for the Money, Two for the Dough, etc.). I've read the entire series. It's about a woman who starts working as a bounty hunter for her cousin's bail bonds company just to make the rent after getting laid off of her job. She's probably the worst bounty hunter ever, but has a ridiculous lucky streak (this adds for lots of humor yet suspense and mystery in the book). As the series progresses, she's constantly in battle with herself over two (very hot) men in her life (which also adds for some steamy romance) and wanting a sane, safe job.
There are some pretty hilarious characters and situations and I always find myself laughing out loud a couple times during every book. Yet each one does have a pretty good amount of suspense, action and mystery. And though it's not particularly necessary, I HIGHLY recommend reading the series in order.

That is a difficult question considering a lot of the books I read instantly become my favorite.
BUT, I would have to say either 'The Pact: A Love Story' or 'My Sister's Keeper' and both are by Jodi Picoult. Jodi is the best wirte, IMO. She is amaizng!
The Pact - About a boy who is accused of killing his girlfriend. Or did he?
My Sisters Keeper - About a family with a daughter with leukemia and Anna, their 'designer' daughter who was born solely intended to help her sister. Anna becomes undecided on the fact that she doesn't want to help her sister anymore.

Try "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte. It's wonderful. The plot and characters are intriguing, and I wanted to re-read it this past summer, but was tied up in a Dickens novel for four months. Bummer. :-)

My favorite book is Life of Pi.
It is about an Indian who grew up in a zoo. His ship to Canada sank and he survived.

If you like historically accurate fiction, try the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. If you like Militaria, go for Nelson DeMille. If you like Biographies, go for stuff on Eleanor of Aquitaine. She was amazing!

1984 by George Orwell. The book was prophetic in its examination of human nature in both its need for power and dominance as well as its need for freedom and expression. It reveals the dark side of humanity but i think will speak to each person uniquely. I highly recommend it!
