The meaning of life is whatever meaning you want to give it, it all depends on the perspective you have abou life, and about the things you do with the knowledge you know. Life can mean nothing for someone and everything for others, life is whatever we make out of it, we shape LIFE WE SHAPE THE WAY LIFE IS!!

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The meaning of life is the greatest question and the one that is most falsified. The meaning goes beyond God because life was here before the human concept of God, we must never forget that we used to beleive in multi-gods and before that we were humans that had an entire enviroment that was circled around night and day with no control over the enviroment. Nature was religion and wewere true creatures of nature.
Having now evovled and becoming conscious of one's own spirit brings in a whole new door of thoughts and faith becomes something centered. Now as a Human race that has no set meaning because we have no leadership. (think about it, what is our goals as a world civilization-eat,poop, and pay taxes. Are we all trying to set goals for exploring the universe and making sure our species survives and maybe find the full meaning?) I am not blasting Jesus, but his goal is self centered and for the good of one's own eternal bliss. Don't fool yourself into thinking that there is anyone on the planet right now with the credentals and knowledge of Jesus. We don't know who is in Heaven, the only guarntees I would think is Jesus, buddha, Muhhamed, maybe moses and St. Francis of Assai. With the honorable mention of Joan of Arc and Leonardo Da Vinci. We really don't know the credentials of nirvana and I know for a fact that the Jesus, Buddha, and Muhhamed went a deep meditational life that is uncharateristic of anyone else. To make a long story short we have no meaning yet and those that found one really tried hard to do it.

In order to find the meaning OF life, you must find the source of truth FOR life. This is a question that everyone wants the answer to either consciously or subconsciously. Well, What I can tell you is that you can demonstrate that the Holy Bible is true in its content and meaning. That being said, the meaning of life is to have a relationship with the creator of the universe through Jesus Christ, who lived, died and resurrected specifically so we COULD have that relationship with God. There is not enough space to give every detail of what i am talking about, however, there is a book called The FACE That Demonstrates The FARCE of Evolution by Hank Hanegraaf, that discusses many things, but regarding your question, shows how you can prove that the Bible is THE source of inerrant truth for life and its meaning. When you know what is true, you can then live according to that truth and thus find and live the meaning of life!

LIfe is replete with meaning. Even as colors are basic to a rainbow, so too is meaning to life. Everything you do has meaning and purpose, every word you speak has its affect, and every thought that enters your mind lives forever.

Your soul is the sum product of everything you do, every word you speak and every thought that enters your mind. And without the soul there is no meaning.

So be careful how you nuture your soul; seek truth, practice love and relish everything in the world that has beauty. That is all you need to know in the world. That is all there is to know.

Meaning for life?! Everything and nothing! That's like the shape for water and the appearance for mirror.

In 25 words of less? No way!

Lets see what I can do with it.

1. Where did I come from before this life?
2. Why am I here in this life?
3. Where am I going after this life is over?

We are the spirit children of a wise and loving Heavenly Father. We lived with him for millions of years as we learned and developed.

He created this world as a place for us to come, to receive a physical body, to learn to control that body, and to be tested. Because we are not permitted to remember our previous life the test is to see if we will seek and find God and learn to live by his commandments. He has provided living prophets in all ages to help us do this.

Because of the atoning sacrifice and resurection of Jesus Christ we will all be resurrected from death and receive our bodies again. All will receive a reward in one of the kingdoms prepared by God for us to be determined by our actions and faithfulness to the teachings of Christ.

In the words of God Himself; "For behold, this is my work and my glory --- to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." Moses 1:39

Immortality was guarenteed through the ressurection of Jesus Christ. Eternal live is to live forever in the presence of God and Jesus Christ.

Good answer and a true story. You can prove it for yourself by reading the Book of Mormon and accepting the challenge it presents:
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

This is the mosst important question you will ask in this life and how you resolve it will have a greater impact on your life that anything else you learn or do.

P.S. I know it is true.

I have boiled it down to simple Faith.with Faith all things are possible.I have seen miracles happen because of Faith. and i am not talking about the religion or God type of Faith. Just Faith.I am a spiritual person though. But you don't have to believe in God to have Faith.Faith opens a person to something much higher then just themselves.to everything. to there entire being.
Peace
