I fully expect that the Yankees will extend his contract and he will not opt out.
Right now, the Rangers are paying a chunk of change (I think $7 million a year) on his current contract, and opting out frees them from that obligation. So, that means they have that much cushion to play with for locking him down. Honestly, if he walks there aren't a lot of teams that can swing that kind of money any longer, so his best bet is sticking with the Yanks.

dosent matter... the yankees are the only ones who can pay him without angels giving up guerrero or the red sox giving up ortiz and manny so if he opts out he is in crap he should sign a 10 year deal for 300 million dollars and then texas will give him 13 millon a year and the yankees will give him 17 millon if he opts out he wont make as much money because the yankees will not dish out 30 millon dollars a year which is what he wants
