i have noticed this too. I think it has to do with people's 'convinence'. They want to do it around their schedule instead of the baby's.

I was induced a week early because of gestational diabetes. That was for the safety of the baby, but I wouldn't do it just to "schedule" the birth or fit back into my regular clothes sooner.

Pregnancies are no longer allowed to go much past nine months these days. There are potential health problems to mom and baby if labor isn't induced.

Because all women care about is how they look. So they induce at 7 months becasue the baby can survive on their own by that time and the last two months is when they gain all the weight. So who cares about whats best for the baby...I wanna fit into my size 0 jeans in a month!!!

Nature doesn't always know best.
There are more inductions going on due to the increase of illnesses associated with pregnancy. I had toxemia, so naturally I was forced to give birth early. If I had went with nature, both my daughter and myself would be dead.

Don't forget fertility medication that let women who weren't meant to make babies have sextuplets. This includes 40+ year old women trying to have kids... talk about artificially induced.

Ever read "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley?

In his bleak anti-Utopia, people are made and not born. Freaky thing is, we're not that far off.

Sad, isn't it. Along with the decline in breast feeding. Nature knows best.
