This sounds suspiciously like either a high school or college assignment. Why don't you read the book yourself, and then, do the work yourself like your instructor intended for you to do. Black Like Me is actually a very interesting book. Go ahead, I dare you to read it.

"as you view them personally" means YOU are supposed to do this yourself. First, of course, you need to read the book.

I read this book and what I got out of it was that you should never suppose that you know what it's like to live in someone else's skin.
