Assuming Appalachian State goes undefeated
and all of the D1-A/Bowl Subdivision teams have one loss...

will the Boise State fans/people who think Boise State should have gotten a chance in the National Championship Game last year stand up and say that App State deserves a shot at the 1-A NC?

I obviously think that people are logical enough not to....they are two seperate divisions
but I thought people would realize last year that Boise State played a schedule that is awefully simliar to that of a D-1 AA team.

Louisiana Tech
Northern Arizona
Wyoming
Western Carolina
Lenoir-Rhyne
Southern Miss

which three are Bowl Subdivision and which three are Championship Subdivision....I bet Boise State fans can barely tell

-------------that's quite a rant...I know....I just hope people see the point
(just because you go undefeated, doesn't mean you're one of the 2 best teams in the country)

I agree 100% the biggest issue was boise state being taken seriously last year. They actaully ended up playing on a bigger stage than they deserved. But once there they took advantage of it and embarassed OU.

I get your point Burnt. Boise state had not claim to last year because their schedule was not equivalent to upper lever Div 1a BCS conferences. Appalachian states 1AA schedule in your argument was probably as tough as Boise's 1A.
The only argument I have against that is that Boise played the schedule it was handed. I think that many BCS conference teams schedule weaker 1A teams as a sort of running practice. Playing a team such as Boise could result in a loss and would give the host team little upside.
All in all I think your argument is sound.

If you go undefeated, but don't play anybody, you don't deserve a chance at the national championship. Boise State won a close, but impressive game against Oklahoma in their bowl last year, but that was their toughest game of the season by far. Really only the teams in the upper tier, BCS conferences, and perhaps Notre Dame, are teams that have a shot at going to the title game in any given year.

Teams who are undefeated deseve equal shots at getting to be in the National Championship game, like Boise and App. State, (if they go undefeated or have one loss). That's why they should have a playoff system in College Football, like the one in NCAA Basketball, with the ranked teams only.

in the event that they're the only undefeated team on the tip of the year, perhaps. do not assume it. do not assume them being undefeated on the tip of the year the two. State college is a noisy place to be, and Ohio States offense has not been extraordinarily impressive. The win against WashU is finding decrease than impressive. they could desire to play at Purdue (not so undesirable) at Penn State (ouch) and at Michigan (can Ohio St run the unfold?) we are going to see what takes place because of the fact the season unfolds...

I see your point and quite frankily I think that appalician state could make it in Divison 1 football though that dosent give michigan any excuse for the loss! But they looked good out there... but I really dont think appalician state would make it to the national championship maybe a differnt bowl but I dont think there that good thought I think that they should no doubt be in Div 1

The major polls will not rank Divison 1AA teams which i think ridicolous especially after watching Michigan's season go up in smoke.
Boise St shud have been in the championship game

NCAA needs to bring in the playoff system

ASU would not be eligible for a BCS bowl game because of their different division. They have their own playoff system.

So, the question is moot.

Uh...App State can't because they are I-AA...They have a playoff system...no bowl games...In other words, you won't have App vs. USC...It can't happen...not for the championship anyway...They could play during the season, just like they did Michigan...
