You must first prove that the child belongs to him before the state will make him pay child support.

If you weren't married when the child was born, and the father does not admit that the child is his, the only way to prove he is the true father is through a DNA test, which is expensive. A DNA test can cost $10,000 or more.

There is a Uniform Child Support Enforcement Act that most states have adopted. There should be some version of Child and Family Services in your state. Call their office, and they can bring your baby daddy into court and order him to take a paternity test. It does not cost 10,000 dollars, and as a matter of fact, if you are on state assistance, it probably would not cost anything at all. You do not have to be rich. As a matter of fact it helps to be poor.

Second solution:
Sue baby daddy in chancery court and get the court to order a paternity test.

Child support enforcement agencies exist in all states and you should be able to get paternity established through them. I'm not certain on that as I didn't have that issue but you should be able to talk to them and maybe they can guide you in the right direction if they can't perform the services themselves.
Good luck...I know it's tough but just hang in there and keep trying everything that you can. Don't give up!!

Child Support is covered under State guidelines. I know Florida will require a person to submit to a DNA test, at their own expense. My wifes ex could not be found for 17 years and he is now paying back support. You need an attorney.
