mean is the average of numbers.
example: 2, 3, 4 are the numbers. you add them together, which is 9, and divide them by the number of numbers, which is three. so 9 divided by 3 is 3.
median is the middle number of a line of numbers.
example: 2, 3, 4 are the numbers again. you would cross off the numbers from each side. so 2 and 4 would be crossed off, leaving 3 as the median, or middle number.
and mode is the number shown most frequently.
example: 2, 3 ,4 ,4 are the numbers. 4 is the mode because it is shown twice, whereas the other numbers are only being shown once.
good luck! (:

The mean is the statistical average.
Add all of the numbers in the series and then divide by the number of instances in the series.
example:
if you have four test grades and they are 80, 82, 88, 92 then the mean is (80+82+88+92)/4 = 85.5
The median is the middle value. Put them all in order and then find what number is in the middle. In our example, since there are an even number of choices, the middle (median) has to be between two numbers (in this case 82 and 88) so we simply find the mean of those two. (82+88)/2 = 85
The range is what it sounds like. In this example we have a range of 80 to 92.
The mode is any value that appears most often. Our example doesn't have a mode because every value only appears once. If we had 80, 82, 84, 84, 86 then we'd have a mode of 84. You can have no mode, one mode, or many modes.
Stats is cool, relax and this stuff will come to you and you'll find it's really interesting once you start applying it to real situations and not just simple examples.

Mean is the "average" of all numbers. You first add up all the numbers you have and then divide that by the amount of numbers you have. Say you have 1,1,2,3,4,5. You add them all up and you get 16. You then divide by the amount of numbers you have which is 5. 16/5 is 3.2. The median is the "middle" number. In this example there is 2 middle numbers (2,3) so we have to find the "mean" of the 2 middle numbers. 2+3=5 5/2 = 3.5. The mode is the number that is most frequently used. In this example, 1 would be the mode because it is the only number used more than once.
Mean: 3.2
Median: 3.5
Mode: 1

Mean is the same as average. That is it is the sum of a bunch of numbers divided by the number of numbers.
The median is the middle number or the average of the two middle numbers if there are an even number of numbers. (half the numers are greater than the median, half are less).
The mode is the most common element.

they're all averages. the mean is the sum of all the numbers, divided by the number of numbers. the median is the middle number when lined up in ascending/descending order. mode is the most common number.

MEAN - the average. Add up all the terms and divide by the number of terms.
MEDIAN - The absolute middle point of a number of terms. that are given in rank order - highest to lowest etc.
MODE - the term that occurs most frequently.
