If you want something different than the things in Disneyland, do not go to Magic Kingdom. Trust me those two are so much alike. The other 3 (Epcot, Disney's MGM-Studios, and Animal Kingdom) are awesome (I LOVE DISNEY WORLD)! Other good thrill seeker parks are Busch-Gardens and Islands of Adventure. Obviously, during the week (Mon-Thurs) is a good time to go...but for months, just do process of elimination:

January - Don't go at beginning of month, wait until after Winter break
February - Fine
March - Go before (or after) Spring break
April - Fine
May - BUSY because of Grad Nite
June - BUSY! SUMMER
July - BUSY! SUMMER
August - BUSY! SUMMER
September - Less busy but some schools still have SUMMER
October - BUSY for Halloween celebrations and parties
November - Fine
December - BUSY because of Winter break and Holidays!

If you live by Disneyland... I'm guessing you've been there a lot??? Then, I would suggest totally skipping "The Magic Kingdom" at Walt Disney World because that park is basically a remake of Disneyland!!

Go to the Disney MGM studios park definately for the Rock 'n Roller coaster and The Tower or Terror and all the other great attractions at that park!!

Then I'd say choose either the Epcot park if you like touring different parts of the world and a lot of educational type of attractions, or choose the Animal Kingdom park if you want to see the live animals and ride Expedition Everest!!

Universal's Island's of Adventure is a no-brainer!! Definately go there... and maybe also to the Original Universal Studios park.

Anytime left... then maybe check out Sea-World, or go to one of Disney's water parks or do some shopping at downtown Disney.

The best place to stay down there is at one of the Disney resorts... that way you get all of their bus transportation to and from the parks... plus a lot of other Disney perks as well!!

I would think anytime in September would be pretty good... but you've also got to remember that Disney World in Florida is the TOP vacation destination for the entire world!!! Meaning.... there are always going to be a lot of people there...

Since you're only going for a few days, I recommend hitting Disney for a couple, and Universal for a couple. You're not going to save a whole lot of cash if you limit yourself to one park. Both Universal and Disney have their ticket prices set up to where the longer you stay, the more cost-efficient your stay will be.

For Disney, I recommend the Magic Kingdom and Epcot for sure, if you can budget it, get a park hopper and try to visit all 4 major parks. Universal is easy to hit in 2 days.

September is outstanding for low crowds, as is November before Thanksgiving. I go a lot in September, and usually walk on attractions with little or no wait. Watch out for October! This used to be a slow month, but Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, and it's also convention season, so October gets busy now. Do Not got in June or July, the place is packed! And hot! The winter months are OK, but a cold snap could make a couple of days miserable, because all you packed was shorts and tee-shirts (been there, done that). Completely avoid Christmas, Easter, and President's day.

If you want a great book that is a lot of help, get "The Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World." It gives help on when to go, ticket prices, what the restaurants have to offer, and it profiles not just Disney, but Universal as well. Also check out allears.net.

I would go to maybe 3 out of the 4 disney parks, and get a park hopper for universal and islands of adventure. Good months are Febuary, but NOT Presidents Week, January Early December, November but not Thanksgiving.Id say Feb as the best

Definitely do Universal and Islands of Adventure. Loved those parks (we went recently aged 9 - 45). Go to Men in Black - one of the most fun rides I was ever on. Terminator and Jaws are cool - who knows what's new now. In Islands, get to the Hulk and Spider-man for sure.

For Disney, do MGM and Epcot. In Epcot, get to the Mission Space ride and the Fast Track - 2 best rides. The Innovations part sometimes has some cool dipslays. It's also fun to walk through the countries. MGM is neat to walk around for one thing, but they do have some cool rides - lots of movie stuff.

If you're 19, don't even bother with Magic Kingdom - it's geared for kids. The only rides I would even bother with is Pirates, Jungle Cruise and maybe Magic Mountain and only because they are classic rides.

If you have never been to WDW and love Disneyland skip Universal and do the four Disney parks. They will keep you plenty busy and you will love them, then plan another trip where you have more time and do Universal for a couple of days mixed in with WDW.
As far as slow times there really are none anymore, WDW is busy year around but there are times when its a little less busy. I've been the beginning of November and found the parks are a lot less crowded. Times I have heard are less crowded are first two weeks of November, first two weeks December, later part of January into February.

Stay away from holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas are really busy as is spring break (late march into April, not everyone gets spring break at the same time) and summer time is pretty busy. I was there last year mid August and it wasnt to bad by my standards but it was very hot and humid.

October and November because kids are in school. Also Jan & feb but it's colder then. Go to 1-Magic Kingdom 2- Universal Studios Both parks (get the pass that lets you go in front of the line, it's extra but worth it). Epcot is ok if you like touristy stuff. I didn't like MGM Studios (only 2 good rides there). Busch Gardens in Tampa is good if you like roller coasters and a jungle-zoo park.

Personally I find all Disney parks overpriced and overrated. Best bang for the buck. Tampa... Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Come stay for 3 days and you can spend one at one of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico beaches. Whoever spoke of tornado season in Orlando must know something I don't as I have lived in Pinellas County for 23 years and have experienced probably 6 tornadoes in that entire time. It is however part of our busiest hurricane season time. Plus I have a friend who drives a bus for Disney and he tells me that October is the best month to go... less crowded and nicer weather.
