I have to write a paper for my college english class. It is about one of our fellow classmates. She wants us to take a different route with the papers, meaning not just an essay about their life. So the interesting thing i found out about her is that she has been swimming since she was like 2 so i have to use swimming as a perspective to basically tell about her life. I dont know how i could possibly start it so can you help?

I think you might want to explore with her how swimming (especially if she does it competitively) is metaphorical to other things in life that she has had to overcome, other difficulties she's faced or other times she's been successful.

Most good papers, essay or not, begin with something that is captivating, intriguing or otherwise attention-grabbing. For this I would recommend telling an actual story about one of the most salient swimming moments in her life. For the thesis then, you would connect this introductory story about swimming to another important aspect of her life or personality.
