That's exactly what I have been trying to tell these people all along. He's been there for what, 2 maybe 3 months? He's not gonna be as great as the other Superstars who have been there for years.
And I totally agree with you about Orton. If it wasn't for his dad and grandad, he probably wouldn't even BE in the WWE.
He's not nearly as bad as everyone makes him to be. In time, he'll grow into the kind of Superstar WWE strives for. Give him 3-4 months, and he'll get that good.
I don't understand why everyone says how bad he is. No wrestler on that roster was perfect when they first started out. It took them a while to get to where they are now.
It frustrates me when people are so harsh and so quick to judge WWE newcomers. They're favorite wrestlers were once newcomers themselves. And Cody is no exception.
In time they'll learn to love him. And if not, that's their problem. He's a good wrestler with all the potential and talent in the world, and he will grow to be a great wrestler.

Wow, aside from now, I've never heard anyone say anything negative about Cody. I don't think he's a bad wrestler. He's nothing remarkable, but he's just debuting. He's got the basics, but he needs to set himself apart. He needs a good finisher, this isn't 1987, DDT's don't cut it anymore and neither do flying Cross Bodies (Which Orton used as a finisher in the beginning, as did Cena for a bit I think). I wouldn't say people hate Cody, and if they do, I'd like a good excuse for it. A better way to put it is, nobody cares about Cody Rhodes yet. He's just not established enough or set apart from the lower midcard to really be anything to anyone.
And no, you can't use Cody Rhodes last name for an excuse when defending Randy Orton, especially since Orton's last name got him to a prodominant spot on the roster in the beginning of his career.
Does he need to go back to development? I don't think so. He's got some decent, basic mic skills, he's MUCH better than Morrison on the stick. Cody's got a look, albeit an old school, somewhat generic look, his trunks still have some remarkable details on them. He's got very Flair like trunks, and that's kind of cool to me. In the ring he's still playing catchup, but that could be contributed to wrestling new people. Even Brian Kendrick sucked for awhile when he came back from Japan. When you wrestle new people, there's no chemistry. Give Cody time to click with someone in the ring before you pass good or bad judgment on his mat work.

Cody does have potential, in my opinion. It's difficult for him to burst on the scene like that, with his first two matches being against Randy Orton, arguably the most talented wrestler on the Raw roster right now. Orton made him look TERRIBLE in the ring, but now that he's involved in some mid-card matches, he's looking better. I'd expect him to make an Intercontinental Championship run soon.

Ok so i can clear this all up: Cody rhodes doesn't write his matches. Vince McMahon Does. The wrestlers who are in the match help. Therefor cody helps write his matches, He doens't write them all. Plus everyone starts out alittle off when they are wrestling but thats not their fault. He started wrestling the night they came here. He was really great live considering it was his first time. Plus, are you the one brave enough to go out there be a wrestler putting your body in danger? I don't know about you but he is and i am. Im training already. So there.

Well a lot of people are talking bad about him is because of the fact that they think he's using his last name to make it. Plus, they also think that since his dad Dusty Rhodes is writer for Raw that he's helped his son get there. But I personally like the kid he's learning the ropes and he's got big shoes to fit too but I think he can do a good job at it.

Maybe it's because he is on Raw every week winning every match he is in when guys who have been on the roster a lot longer and who have a lot more talent do not get any air time or are used as jobbers.
Shelton and Haas should be contenders for the tag titles at the very least, instead they're used to job to the worthless Cody Rhodes.

I've only seen him wrestle a few times.
He's not great, but he's not terrible either.
I do think his name had something to do with him making it up to the WWE's main roster so quickly, but I'm not going to bash him for that because most of the top wrestlers in recent memory had someone break them in through connections.
I'll wait and see with Cody Rhodes....

He's still learning the ropes, but this kid is doing well while just "learning the ropes". He still needs to work on his game and just go with the flow.
He has a lot of potential. I see him going places with that potential.

Cody not only has his father Dusty to live up to but his brother Dustin (Golddust) to live up to. Having these two as relatives got him in the show now it is up to Cody to prove wether or not he belongs at the top level.

I don't hate Cody but I don't like his dad. I just think JR and King kiss up to him for being The American Fatwad's son.
