Not at all. My pediatrician said not to worry until they're past 15 mo. My stepdaughter took her sweet time walking. She would cruise like you wouldn't believe, but refused to take those steps on her own. We were getting tired of lugging her around everywhere, and the dirty knees from some people's not so clean houses. Finally, right at 15 mo, she started walking and there was no stopping her from that point on!!!

Not at ALL! My son didn't crawl until 11.5 months and didn't walk until he was 17 months old. He's totally normal. The doctor aggreed with me that some children are just later bloomers.
Remember it is a developmental milestone... just like puberty. It is not an indication of intelligence.
Your pediatrician will have a list of the APA (American Pediatric's Association) of normal age ranges for milestones... I think walking is considered to be normal between 9 and 19 months! Which means your son has 7 more months to go before he's even considered late.

My niece is 16 month and didnt start to walk untill a couple weeks ago. Shes perfectly normal but did things on her own time. Let your little guy be. He'll get the hang of it when hes ready. Dont rush him 2 much hes only little once.

Don't worry about it. Your son is still in the developmental standards for his age. Some children walk at 1 year but others don't. They all progress at different rates. If in a few months you don't see any progress you should discuss your concerns with his doctor.

That's perfectly normal. My daughter could talk almost before she could walk (her first clear words were "good girl" because we said that to her every time she tried to walk!) and she was the best part of 18 months.
There's a saying: you spend the first few months of your child's life trying to get them to stand up and talk, and the rest of their childhood trying to get them to sit down and be quiet :) Your son will walk when he's ready, don't worry about it.

Don't worry so much. If he doesn't have an older brother to chase after, this is completely normal. He's standing, so he's capable of walking. He'll figure it out.
