I'm 15 years old and i live in Georgia. I need to know what i have to be ready for when i turn 16 so i can emancipate out of my house. My mother and I don't get along at all, I have never met my father. I live with my brother and mother they both smoke weed and i don't like being around it, my mom doesn't give me any freedom what so ever. I need some advice for what i need to do to get it approved my the judge or if there is anything useful i need to know. If you want to move in with your boyfriend and he'd be 21 by the time i'm 16 would that matter to the judge, if you move in with your boyfriend?

Start with having a job and being financially able to support yourself. Then contact children's services in your county.

BTW at 21 he's probably comitting statutory rape.....

I doubt the judge will buy that.

1 Prove that you can provide for yourself financially and emotionally.
2. Demonstrate very high maturity
3. Prove that remaining in the house would be detrimental to you. This is not "my mom is mean and does not let me go out". This would be cases of abuse or other significant miss deeds on the part of your parents.
4. Show that emancipation is the ONLY option such as having no living relatives that are able to take you in etc.

The story you tell in your question probably won't cut it.

The age of consent in Georgia is 16. If you have sex with him before your 16th birthday he could end up in jail. Telling the judge that the answer to your problems is to move in with a guy that is 5 years older than you is a great way to NOT get emancipated.

Well, I'd leave out the part of living with your 21yo boyfriend and you're just sixteen. Unless, of course, you want him to go to prison for statutory rape and spend the rest of his life as a registered sex offender. You're underage honey.
