the car has the immobilizer system on it that will not allow the engine to start (cuts off fuel injection and ignition) if a non-programmed key is used. The only way to program the key is to take the car to a Honda dealer where they can program it using their scan tool.

when they program the key they will need to have all of your keys for that car because they will basically erase the programming then program a new algorythem answer for all of the keys so that all of the keys will start the car.

the honda dealer will charge you for the reprogramming. They are the only ones who can do it.

hope that answers your question

It sounds like the key has a transponder that disables the car's immobiliser, and that's obviously not working.
You may have to get Honda involved.
