Honestly I'm gong to say what everybody is feeling but is too scared to say. With the world changing and more black women topping black men as far as going to college and being educated; the eyes of black women are beginning to open up to a whole new world without stereotypes. Its almost like being enlightened. Quite frankly it IS SOMETHING NEW!!! Something different from what they were brought up in believing. If you look at the statistics far more black women earn 4 year and graduate degrees than black men.
This plays a hudge role on social behavior. With a higher education comes better jobs and a higher tax bracket and its hard to be with someone who is really low on the food chain. I'm a black man so I can say this and have no problems saying it!
It is also a result of hollywoods role on influencing the public. On shows now you see more and more interracial couples with black women dating white men. It is becoming a blatent point when you see black girls on Lincoln heights dating white guys. I'm from Maryland and I know the baltimore area. There are not that many white guys in baltimore so I'm unsure of why the show is pertraying baltimore as if it were LA. Then we have Sanaa Lathan's SOMETHING NEW. I think that movie made the point right there. She was tired of dating tired black men who were not cultured and had no money, so she dated the white landscaper who had his own business. Then theres Venus and Serena who both dated white guys.
The word in hollywood is any black woman with any success is supposed to date a white guy.
Personally I'll admit there was a time I'd get mad everytime I saw a sista with a white guy; it used to hurt me emotionally and I think I took it personal a little bit but after a while of living you start to realize that if someone be it white or black or asian or whatever can give you some kinda peace in this crappy world then it doesn't matter what color they are, just as long as they make you happy!

I do not see that at all. I see different couples but I see alot of black couples and mixed but there doesnt seem to be a huge trend going on. Black men are very beautiful so are white men so I do not see what you see. My friend who is black she is marrying a wonderful black man so where did you get your info?
