I am looking to track down some oldies songs that are romantic. Love Me Tender by Elvis is a great example. Early Rock n' Roll, Doo-Wop, Rockabilly and that sort of stuff. But it needs to be on the mushy side because I am looking for a 1st dance song for a wedding.
Many thanks for sharing your expertise

"Let It Be Me" by The Everly Brothers is awesome. My band plays it at every oldies gig.

"Bus Stop" by The Hollies isn't slow but it has a catchy tune and nice message of blossoming love

Other possibilities depending on your tastes:
- "This Magic Moment" by Jay & The Americans
- "Earth Angel" by The Penguins (one of my fav slow oldies)
- "Silhouettes" by The Rays (not the Herman's Hermits version)
- "Sleepwalk" by Santo and Johnny
- "Hey Paula" by Paul and Paula
- "Only You" by the Platters (another one of my favs)

Good luck...

My fiancee and I are using "For Your Precious Love" by Jerry Butler for ours.

Some other good ones are:
This I Swear - The Skyliners
Peace of Mind - The Spaniels
Earth Angel - The Penguins
To the Aisle - The Five Satins
Guess Who - Jesse Belvin
Life is But a Dream - The Harptones
Just Two Kinds of People in the World - Little Anthony & the Imperials
Chances Are - Johnny Mathis
Never Be Anyone Else But You - Ricky Nelson

Good luck!
