If they were to go Undefeted say for the next two years should a WAC team be able to make the Nat Championship game?

Wondering if a 40 game win streak should count for anything even if in a weak conference with weaker schedule

I read above that Boise State should schedule more top opposition, they with a 40 game win streak have a hard enough time getting top teams to sign with them. And after the Michigan defeat it will be even harder for teams like Boise to get better non conference games. Does Boise deserve a shot at the National Title tough to say, this is exactly why we need a playoff system so that we can see if they can win their way into a title game. The playoff will not happen in the near future and one of the biggest opponents to the playoff system is ironically the pres. of Michigan........HUMM..............will things change I hope so for fans and and for small D-1 schools.

This is why I say that there HAS GOT to be a playoff system in Div 1A football!! There's no way around it. Until there is a playoff system there will never be a true National Champion!
Boise State doesn't play in the "so called" toughest conferences. Like the Big 10-Michigan has a better chance of winning out this year, and Boise State going undefeated and Michigan getting the nod over Boise. It's sad, but true. There is too much money in the bigger schools and the networks will lose there "beep" if smaller schools start getting played on Saturdays instead of the USC's, Notre Dame's, Oklahoma's, UF, FSU, etc.....

Yes, but only if every team in the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, PAC 10, Big East, and ACC fail to win a single game. If that happens, then an undefeated Boise St team should have a chance to play in the NC game.

I have been following Boise St. for the last 3 years. Actually stumbled across a game. But I have grown to love watching them play. Up till the game against Oklahoma, I was like most people...yea, they're good, but they really don't play anyone. Well, I think they have proved they belong. This coming weeks game against Washingtion should help their situation if they win. Go Broncos!!!

They need to schedule top teams for their non-coference games. They are as good as anyone though.

all i have to say is scheduling. Many teams would have gone undefeated w/ their schedule every year.

it would depend on their OOC games and how the power conference teams did
