Could anyone could lend me their advice on how to get our business number permanently removed from a company's calling list? The FTC says that their do not call list is not for business use, what to do? This is taking up a lot of my time

There is a company that has been calling a couple times a week for the last 3 months. Each time they call I tell them to take us off their list. They say "ok" and hang up. Today, they called again and as usual, I let her know that you have to remove someone from your list if they ask to be removed. I am getting really frustrated! Today, the caller told me that she can remove me from her calling list but cannot stop the other 1,500 employees at this business from calling me. IS THIS TRUE??

What info would I need to take action, & does the phone co block all numbers from certain companies if you ask? I have had no luck finding this bus. on the internet, and only was able to get one direct line number of one of the callers. Thank you!!

1st off it is illegal for them to continue calling you after you have told them to remove your number off their calling list.
Federal law prohibits telemarketers from "Initiating an outbound telephone call to a person when that person previously has stated that he or she does not wish to receive an outbound telephone call made by or on behalf of the seller whose goods or services are being offered.". You may simply interrupt the telemarketer and say "Please permanently remove me from your calling list". Remember that they just interrupted you. If the same people call back, they are violating the law. Ask them for their company name, supervisor name and phone number. If you wish to quote Federal law to the telemarketer, you may read it at Federal Trade Commission: Telemarketing Sales Rule.
General Telemarketing calls: Send a postcard with your complete telephone number, area code, address, and names of people receiving calls to DMA Telephone Preference Service, PO Box 9014, Farmingdale NY 11735-9014.

Business numbers are exempt from the Do Not Call list, you don't have a choice. Actually all you can do is hang up on them without listening to the sales speech.

Personal home phone numbers can be put on the do not call list, and ALL cell phone numbers are automatically on it. The only calls allowed to those numbers are non-profit telemarketing calls (fireman's funds, children's groups, etc.) and election time calls from candidate parties. If anyone else calls, you get the name and organization that called, and their phone number. Tell them you are on the list, if they call back again, document the second call and report them. It's $500 in your pocket.

But as to business lines, you're out of luck. Sorry.

Tell them you have recorded the last 5 calls after informing them that you do not want further contact. They should be hearing from your attorney and the prosecutor within the next few days. Then contact the prosecutor of find an attorney willing help you by writing a letter, I read an article about a young man that kept suing these companies by doing exactly what I have said. The only difference was he had put his phone on the do not call list. LOL I get 10% of the suit.

Good luck

Two simple steps Get a call screener and screen the call before picking up. Second, ask them to hang on a moment while you get the owner of the house, you're just a vistor. Put the phone handset on the table and walk off. Eventually they'll hang up. Do this every single time. They'll get so sick of you wasting their call time they'll stop calling entirely.

just them tell to delete your number and company out of theire database and then no one at their company should know you exist - ask to speak to a supervisor if necessary
