By dropping Michigan out of top 25 aren't they in essence saying that App St. is a bad team? I bet the best I-AA team the last few years could easily be a top 50-60 team in I-A. Now seeing that most of these big name teams load up on Sun-Belt and other garbage teams, and some of which barely win, shouldn't they be dropped too? Really this is indicative of the farse that is the AP Poll, virtually none of the pollsters have the guts to drop a team if they win (even if they don't deserve their rank) and are so formulaic in how they rank. But hey its a 12 week playoff right, thats why an undefeated team (Boise) and a one loss team (Florida) got their appropriate spots in the title hunt last year...errrr maybe not. The game of college football is the best we have (sorry NFL CFB is more exciting), but the system is hugely flawed. And I bet you thought by the question I was gonna call for App St. to be in the top 25? C'mon gimme more credit than that.

The whole system is flawed. App St isn't being dissed. They are getting more press from this victory than for being a two time National Champion. They are a great team with great athletes. Polls are useless!

It's not so much saying that App St sucks... any ranked team that loses to an unranked team near the start of the season gets dropped out.. that's just the way it rolls... heck look how far Tennessee got bumped down and they lost to a team with a HIGHER rank than them.

Some people didn't read the entire question, did they? Looks like kris and iceman only read the title. This isn't directed at you Dmoney, but to the others who didn't read the entire question. ASU can't be ranked in the Bowl Subdivision, because they aren't a Bowl Subdivision team. And to answer your question dmoney, I don't think it is any disrespect towards ASU that Michigan dropped all the way out. Michigan should not lose at home to a team a lower subdivision, regardless of how good that team is in that division.

The first few weeks are always shakey...After that, they still don't make much sense! TCU wen't undefeated a few years ago and did't make the top 20. The BCS let OU play for the title after losing the Big 12 championship. App St. is gonna have to do more than beat Mich. to get ranked.

This is exactly why there shouldn't be a "pre-season" ranking. You have a good guess who is going to be good, but until they play, you never know. Let every team play 2 games, then come out with a ranking.

Its much more of a reflection on michigan then App state. App state isnt ranked and is 1-AA. No top 25 should EVER lose to someone like that.

Michigan's supposed to be a better team than that. It has more money, more students, better recruiting, this isn't supposed to happen.
