Street smarts are knowledge on how to be on the streets at any time of day and what is safe and what is not safe.
ex)with street smarts you know is not a good idea to walk around Harlem at 3in the morning.
ex)street smart tell you it's not a good idea to pick up a hitchhiker
ex)The girl who dis appeared in aruba did not have street smarts.
ex)Street smats tell us not to allow a total stranger in to our home to use the phone when we are alone.
With street smarts one knows there are bad people out there
and how to keep safe if alone.
ex)Look at how many girls Bundy killed - non of them I am willing to bet had street smarts

it's the opposite of book smarts. its knowing how to act and what to do in the real world through common sense.

It's just like common sense, stuff you don't learn at school. Like how to defend yourself (verbally), how to make friends, pretty much how people who don't have a formal education learn how to behave.
