I am not sure where I heard this, but I have kept it with me for years:
Opportunity will knock once, but Temptation will pound on your door forever.
I have applied that to many aspects of my life. I dont jump up and grab the first thing that comes my way, because it may not be the right decision. By not being so greedy, chances are I will suffer for a while, but in the end, I have found that whatever I was waiting for, was totally worth it. Hence another quote I believe in :
