Yes, there are a number of sites that are connected to a real telescope via remote control from your desk top.
You can watch what the scope is aimed at and in some cases can control the scope.
Some of these websites let you buy time on the scope and the Telescope is yours to operate for that time. Most folks who rent time on these scopes engage in Astrophotography and take pictures with the telescope's cameras.
Try a google search under "Remote Telescopes"

What you're doing is highlighting the actuality that it rather is considerable be conscious of precisely WHY you certainly want a telescope before you bypass out and purchase one. it rather is a nicely customary actuality that the sky seems a similar to each person in any respect time everywhere in the international, and there'll constantly be somebody with a plenty extra appropriate telescope than you have. subsequently if all you want to do is to seem on the appropriate possible image of an astronomical merchandise, your appropriate source is the Hubble web site. despite the fact that if only as men bypass fishing and have no purpose of catching something: they only want to bypass off by myself someplace and escape the rat race for awhile, some people want to possess a telescope using fact it supplies us a remarkable excuse to bypass out and escape for awhile, take exhilaration in some peace and quiete and clean air. Cheers!

Try google space, its not an actual telescope but it will show you whats out there. Most computer controlled telescopes are used by universities and independent researchers. But you can get your own pc driven telescope i use my laptop to control mine all costing under a 1000 gbp and trust me you will be amazed.

I believe that the Timothy Ferris special on PBS entitled "Seeing in the Dark" airing Sept 19 will include something similar to what you are describing. Please see the press release below - should be a terrific program.
