This year its Prince Fielder. He has the power and is a better contact hitter than Ryan Howard. Albert Pujols is the better player though, he is the most well rounded 1st baseman in the NL and, though this isn't his best season, he's been very consistent.

Albert Pujols probably has to be considered the best when you combine all five tools. Derek Lee warrants consideration because of his defense and ability to hit for average.

Ryan Howard is obviously a great power hitter and is solid across the board. Texiera from Atlanta is good.

Prince Fielder is a great power hitter but is a horrible defender - there is no way he can be considered the best. Besides Lee and Pujols, I also may put Lance Berkman ahead of him - making him the 4th best first baseman in the division, much less the league.

Ok, regardless of my name, i still think offensively its Ryan Howard, sure his defense is still in the devoping stages, its really coming along nicely. Defensivly though i am going to have to go with Albert Pujols as my NL players. As for the AL, I will go with Justin Morneu as the best offensive man, and its hard to chose a defensive one, but i might have to go with Paul Konerko, now you may have many objectons to this, but seriously, the only other person who is comparable to his career .995 fielding % is texiera who is now in the NL.

1) Albert Pujlos
2) Ryan Howard
3) Prince Fielder

Albert is the best simply because he was been doing it the best for the longest period of time. He hits .300, 30 home runs and drives in 100 RBIs every year.
