abysmal.....hardly. Don't use words you don't know how to use.
They will remain #1, but will get fewer votes. I will agree they did not play well in the first quarter and the fourth. But this has been a trend for USC in its early games. I think they shuttled too many backs and sputtered on some third downs. Both defensively and offensively they played very vanilla and lacked punch, I will give you that. But this is only week 1, they don't hand out Crystal Trophies after week one. If they did, I'd pick UCLA over LSU and USC.

I dislike USC because they may have some of the worst fans in college football, or at least most of their fans on here are. I mean because they don't know how to win, and act like they have never won before by being cocky. There are some in every fanbase I know, but some are way worse than others. They aren't the only ones that is for sure.

HOWEVER, even though I didn't see the game but I don't know how you win by 4 touch downs and have an abysmal game, if the stats weren't matched up or something crazy like a string of bad calls happened but I haven't heard that was the case so I think they won the game by alot, and of course will retain their spot.

Unfortunately, USC didn't do enough to lose the #1 spot and nobody close really played well. LSU beat up a bad Miss St. team and didn't look overly impressive. Texas escaped a close game. Florida looked good as did West Virginia but like most top teams, played powder puffs. Michigan will drop but not out of the top 25...maybe to 19-21. The team they lost to could be a number of Division I schools.

I don't like USC but if winning by 4 touchdowns is a poor performance I'll take it. They will remain at #1 as they did nothing to lose that ranking.

And to the guy who said USC would drop to #2 they weren't.
To the same guy who said Mich woud drop to 14, they're not even in the top 25. So much for experts.

If being Abysmal means winning by four touchdowns, I'll take it. The Trojans are off this weekend.

Michigan should NOT be in the top 25, regardless of the result against Oregon.

they just have to keep winning, just because they didn t run up the score yesterday doesn't mean they played horribly. they played with integrity and respect. The big games against good teams are the ones that count. Michigan should either be 25 or out.

Sportswriters like them and they won, so I think they keep the spot. Almost no one played a real quality opponent so not the week to see them lose the spot with a win.

USC will have to cover all spreads and look very good doing it. they will have to play nearly mistake-free to recapture the #1 spot. yes, RECAPTURE, because after saturday's performance, they will go down to #2.

LSU and west virginia looked better in their openers.

Win every game. With the schedule they have if they dont go undefeated then they are overrated, more then Michigan was.
If Michigan wins they will probably be back in the top 25 just because the media loves them.
