Poor coaching,forgotten sportsmanship.I'd say it right to their eyes if they where not such cowards.

I'm assuming you are talking about college football coaches or even high school coaches. And while I'm not sure you are in the right category -- sports/general would work -- I will say that in some cases college coaches have a stake in running up scores. It helps their teams in the national rankings, which can lead to bigger bowl games, which can lead to national championships or at least more money for the program. And let's face it, it's tough to tell athletes not to try when they are out on the field.

All well and good. Still, there's some arrogance in the profession. Barry Switzer used to brag about ringing up half a hundred when he was at Oklahoma. Some high school coaches could do a better job when in an obvious mismatch situation.
