I found a snake that is simular to a Garter snake without the stripe down the back. It is young so kind of hard to ID, about 8 inches and thin. Any idea??

Ribbon snakes look just like garter snakes, but are much thinner.

Need a picture. Could be a baby rat snake of some sort. Some garter snakes don't have stripes though. I don't think it's a corn snake, cause the ones found in nature are usually shades of brown, orange, and gray. And they look very little like garter snakes. The ones in captivity could possibly look like a garter snake, but not a wild one.

If it has a stripe down either side, but no stripe on the top of it's back, it's a Queens snake, totally harmless & very much like a garter snake in temperment & behavior.

It's venemous! You gotta leave immediately!

or not if it's not a garter snake it's probably a bush snake or otherwise known as a ribbon snake the the kid up above said.
