I have used IE7 for a while now, I was using it today when I got the internet explorer needs to close, sorry for inconvienience and do I want to send an error report, so I sent one and then re-started up IE7 ... Same thing.

So I shut down and turn my PC back on, and still the same.

I don't think it's a virus as I have norton IS 2007, and have done a full system scan.

Please no things like use Firefox is better. I want to fix the problem not replace IE7.

Currently I am using my other PC, and I know there is nothing wrong with the internet connection.

Thanks to all who help

You probably still have some junk software that Norton missed. Sounds like one of the plug-ins for IE7 is causing issues.

Right-click on the IE7 icon and start without plugins enabled. If you don;t have that option, then go to Control Panel --> Internet Options then the Programs tab. Click on the Manage Ad-ons button at the bottom and disable every one that you can.

You should run a system scan with both Spybot and Ad-Aware to see if they pick anything up. If they do, then enable all the ad-ons once they clean it up.

If they do not pick up anything, then enable the ad-ons one ata time until you find the one that is casuing the problem.

Hpe this helps!

If it continuously does that, you will eventually have to uninstall and reinstall IE 7. Go into your Control Panel and click Add/Remove programs, and place a check where it says "Show all updates" that way IE 7 will be displayed in the programs list. Once removed, it will revert back to IE 6 and want to provide additional updates for IE 6. You may then complete your Windows update and download IE 7 again, or go directly to the Microsoft site and complete a search in downloads for IE 7.

ok, well this happens quite a lot when you get spyware, i know you have NIS 2007, i do too. but it's not that good for picking up spyware - although it is better than previous versions! i would suggest running an automatic update from www.microsoft.com also from there checking for IE7 updates and installing Windows Defender - it is totally free but good for picking up spyware!
