Just for YOU

Today is a precious new day
as you meditate and start to ponder
Its so divine--when you take the time
to adventure with childlike wonder

I hope you have a blessed one
and yet that all depends
on the choices that you initiate
from the beginning til the end

Seek to find another
who needs your smile and yet
don't estimate the power of a kind word
to have a positive effect

As I come to a gracious pause
I have asked the Lord above
to grant you peaceful tranquility
embracing you with his love.

Quite inspirational and consoling poem. I like these lines:

I hope you have a blessed one
and yet that all depends
on the choices that you initiate
from the beginning til the end

but get the spelling correctly of "till"

Have a blessed day too.

It's a nice poem...here are some editing suggestions:

First stanza, second line: try, "as you meditiate and ponder". it flows better and keeps the same image. Third line, it's "it's" as in "it is", not the possessive "its".

Second stanza, third line: I'd drop "that". Fourth line, change "til" to "till" or "to"..although I personally prefer "to" because it doesn't stall on the tongue the way "till" does in this phrase.

Third stanza, third line: biggest hard spot. You meant "under estimate"...and the line has too many beats...try, "don't under estimate a kind word's power".

Fourth stanza: tense disagreement...you say "as I come", which is present tense, but go on to say, "I have asked". This is problematical....but easily repaired; just say, "I ask the Lord above". The next line would normally be "peace and tranquility", rather than "peaceful tranquility", but I guess either way could work. The last line: try "and embrace you..." and I think it will flow better.

Again, nice poem...keep writing
