I'm not a football fan but it makes me mad that British clubs will spend millions of pounds of the British fans money on foreign players when there must be loads of talent here at home.
British teams ie. Man U, Chelsea, Rangers, Celtic, etc are doing great individually but when it comes to national games we are way behind the rest of the world. Why? All our best players are foreign!
Don't all you footie fans out there think that your money would be better spent looking for players in pub and Sunday league teams rather than fighting for Mr Unpronounceable from Japan or Italy?
It's a shame that the kids over here are pushed ot of the way in favour of high priced replacements. Anyway, my rant is over let me know what you think. Maybe I'll regret asking this question but we'll see. Thanks, xx.

Soccer is for 5 year olds that eat too much sugar. It is the only age where a human will chase a ball then slowly bring it back only to have it kicked down field again. It's not really a sport, it's more of a program to teach children how to play fetch with their dog in later years. Anytime you have 60,000 fans incoherent and blacked out from their pre-"game?" booze intake while watching skinny guys dressed in short shorts and blouses kick a ball back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.... Sorry fell asleep for a moment there.... Anyways, nothing better than a zero-zero game 30% of the games... Try watching american football... One goal, to knock the crap out of the opponent... Not tip toe around your opponent...

Because the wages are so high here we attract alot of the best footballers in the world, plus most of our best players stay in the premier league. The money is ridiculous and many players are greedy which is a shame but we do have a hugely entertaining league-just look at the start to this season with all it's ups and downs. I feel more sorry for the poorer countries who produce great footballers such as Brazil and Argentina, their club leagues are rubbish because all the talent moves to European clubs. Also our National team does have some world class players who would easily make it into a world squad, they just can't play very well as an England unit.Perhaps if the FA could sort out a decent manager things could improve. Anyway there's a sickeningly huge amount of money in football and for the most part it leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth especialy when you have the England captain John Terry demanding that he be paid £135 000 a week in order to be the highest paid player at Chelsea. I don't think you can blame foreign players,I think they bring a great deal to our football. Also you mentioned Man U and Chelsea doing well, they did so last season with huge help from Brittish players:Scholes,Giggs,Ferdinand,Rooney,Lampard,Terry,Ahsley Cole,Joe Cole etc

'high priced replacements', your having a laugh right? Fernando Torres, 19M + Garcia, Darren Bent, 16M. Are you for real!!! The reason so many foreign players come to the premiership is because they are cheaper, better and dont get over-hyped by our fickle media. Need more examples? Chris Sutton, 10M, Thierry Henry,10.5M. Need I go on? The problem is not with the foreign players but they way football is set up in the uk. Young British players are thrown by the wayside season after season. The youth system has to change, the professional clubs reserve league has to change At the minute its pointless. Look at Spain where they compete properly, encouraging players to develop under a competitive environment. Those who complain that foreigners are ruining the game should look closer to home.

see you've been listening to Trevor Brooking - it's a fact that our top teams have to compete at the highest levels and therefore we have to import some of the big names, which at present tend to be foreign - British football has to start at the lowest level ie. the kids - Sunday league and pub players have already missed the boat - we need to invest more in the kids playing in the junior leagues - therefore it follows there will be no great British International teams for some years and that is only if someone takes notice now!

Ah this old one hey, havnt talked about it for at least 5 minutes so i'll have a qiuck dibble if you dont mind...

Basically it is ruining our National game, or what chance we have, we simply dont have enough players playing week in & week out, however on the plus side it is making the Premier League better & better, into what i believe is the best league in the world, in terms that we have Mancy Utd, Chavski, Liverpool which are world beaters & can challage for ANY TITLE, however we also have the likes of Reading who can goto Old Trafford & snatch a point, so there are good & bad points about it but i'd rather see our National team thrive & force a certain amount in your team etc.

Plus i am a Spurs fan so naturally that would do us no end of good! :p

First of all, the English team consists of the best players in England. The fact that they aren't that good is because there is no longer enough talent in England. So, team owners have to fill that void with players from other countries.

Personally, I would rather wath Thierry Henry on my local pitch than a lesser Briton just because he's British. I pay good money to see the best, and I expect to see the best! And if his name is Ronaldo, or Drozdetsky, or Sinclair...I want him on my team regardless of the nature of his birth certificate!

Your analogy is very poor. Breast feeding in public discretely has been going on for ages and is accepted by most people, while urinating in public is more akin to defecating in public as gay marriage is more akin to marrying your favorite sheep. It all can be related to the old saying, "give em an inch and they'll take a mile" or at least they'll want a mile. Opening a door leads to more doors that people want to open, it starts in childhood and if left unchecked continues on through life. Too much is never enough.

you have answered your question perfectly.I totally 100 percent agree,to much money in football,to many foreigners,it will implode in the near future,we have a premier league were success is not being relegated ,and where 16 of the 20 teams cant WIN IT. pathetic
